REACH
What is REACH?
REACH stands for the Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of
Chemicals. The REACH Regulation entered into force on June 1, 2007 to streamline and improve the
former legislative framework for chemicals of the European Union (EU). REACH also created the European Chemicals
Agency (ECHA) which has a central co-ordination and implementation role in the overall process. ECHA is located
in Helsinki, Finland and manages the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction processes for
chemical substances to ensure consistency across the countries in which REACH applies. Only companies doing
business within the EU, who have their own manufacturing or packaging facility can register their
ingredients for Reach. For those companies that do not have their own manufacturing or packaging facility within
the EU, but who wish to register their products and/or ingredients, they can do so through a
third party company that is operating within the EU. JNJ Industries products are in full compliance with the
European Union's REACH Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006) and we have pre registered all of the ingredients used in
our products as well as the materials they are packaged in. We have done this through our sales agent in
Hungary. No JNJ product contains more than 0.1% by weight per article for any of the substances on the list of
Substance of Very High Concern.
